The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has officially activated the school fee payment portal for all newly admitted 100-Level students for the 2026/2027 academic session, allowing freshers to begin settling their tuition ahead of resumption.

All newly admitted students can now log in to their student profile on the official portal to proceed with payment.

FUTO School Fees for 2026/2027 (Freshers)

Below is the breakdown of school fees by programme category as announced:

Faculty / Course Group Amount
Medicine & Surgery₦572,400
Human Anatomy / Physiology₦236,400
Geology / Architecture₦186,000
School of Health₦192,000
Engineering & Other Courses₦180,000

Newly admitted students are advised to confirm the exact amount applicable to their specific programme directly on their student profile, as figures may vary slightly depending on departmental charges.

How to Pay

School fee payment is done directly through your FUTO student profile. Students are to log in using their admission details, generate their invoice, and proceed to complete payment through the designated channel linked to the portal.

Hostel Accommodation: What Freshers Should Know

Alongside the school fees update, the university has also given an important heads-up regarding hostel accommodation.

According to the notice, the hostel accommodation portal is expected to be activated soon, though an exact date has not yet been announced.

In light of this, students intending to stay in the university hostels have been strongly advised to pay their school fees early. Doing so positions them to proceed immediately with hostel booking as soon as the portal opens, giving them a better chance of securing available spaces before they are fully occupied.

Why Freshers Should Act Quickly

Hostel spaces at FUTO, like most federal universities, are typically limited and tend to fill up fast once booking opens. Students who delay their school fee payment risk missing out on securing a hostel space in time, potentially leaving them to source off-campus accommodation instead.
