Referral links establish attribution. Points are awarded only after the server validates an eligible, qualified action.
Eligibility
Participation is open to eligible FUTO students as configured by the active campaign. Participants must provide accurate registration information and maintain their own account. Required information is collected to create and administer the participant record.
Registration
Visit /prelaunch/register, complete the required information, create or authenticate your participant account, and access your dashboard. Registration does not allow anyone to manually award points.
Referral System
Each participant receives one unique referral ID, such as FC-7K4P9X (example only). It can be shared through /prelaunch/r/FC-7K4P9X or with an article link such as /news/article-slug?ref=FC-7K4P9X. The first valid referral associated with a visitor is normally preserved during the attribution window. A click alone does not verify a referral; successful registration and server-side checks are required.
How Points Work
Only actions currently enabled by the active competition configuration appear here. A referral link, page visit, or task page view does not by itself award points.
Point Recording
Every awarded point is recorded as an individual point event with its participant, action, points and reference. This makes the score auditable. Participants cannot manually submit their own points.
Article Engagement
An article opened through a referral link is evaluated, not instantly rewarded. The current minimum qualifying duration is 30 seconds. The system validates the engagement before recording a qualified event. Refreshes and repeated visits to the same article do not generate unlimited points; different eligible articles may qualify independently.
Point Calculation
Your total is the sum of valid eligible point events.
The referrer and referred participant are separate accounts. Each event is awarded to its correct beneficiary under the active rules; referred-user activity is not automatically duplicated for the referrer.
Leaderboard
Participants are ranked by valid total points in descending order. The current public leaderboard state is not live. When rankings are tied, participants share the same rank and the next rank is skipped (competition ranking).
Anti-Cheat
The system may flag self-referrals, duplicate accounts, automated activity, refresh abuse, manipulated requests, suspicious registration patterns, repeated duplicate-point attempts and fraudulent referral activity. A flag is a review signal, not an automatic finding.
Competition Period
Registration and competition dates follow the active campaign configuration. The campaign launch is 31 October 2026. Competition ends at the configured closing time; the applicable timezone is Africa/Lagos. Points earned after closing are not eligible unless the published rules explicitly allow them.
Freezing & Verification
At the end of the competition, the leaderboard may be frozen while eligibility, point events and flagged activity are reviewed. Final results are confirmed only after this process. A temporary leaderboard position is not, by itself, final winner status.
Prizes
Prize details coming soon. Eligible winners will be announced after the competition closes and final verification is complete. Participation does not guarantee a prize.
Disqualification
Fraudulent activity, self-referral manipulation, duplicate or fake accounts, automated point generation, abuse of platform vulnerabilities and deliberate circumvention of these rules may lead to disqualification after review.
Disputes
If you believe your score has been calculated incorrectly, contact FUTO Central through the official support channel. Point-event records allow the team to investigate the source of a score and correct validated errors.
Contact
For questions about eligibility, scoring or your participation, use the existing FUTO Central contact channel. Important rule updates will be clearly communicated and reflected in the last-updated date above.
