The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has approved the commencement of students' resumption into the university's halls of residence for the 2026/2027 academic session, with students expected to begin reporting to their hostels this Sunday.

The approval was announced under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo.

Resumption Date and Time

According to the notice, all students who have applied for and been allocated bed spaces in the university's various halls of residence, including the Adenike Boyo Hostel, are to resume on Sunday, 1st November 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

Students are required to report directly to their respective halls of residence on the stipulated date.

Documents Required for Verification

On arrival, affected students must present the following documents for verification and documentation:

  1. Evidence of Payment: A receipt confirming payment of the approved hostel accommodation fee.
  2. Bed Space Allocation Slip: A duly issued document confirming the allocation of a bed space.
  3. Passport Photograph: One recent passport-sized photograph.

Students have been strongly advised to ensure that all the required documents are readily available to facilitate a smooth and seamless resumption process.

Who the Notice Applies To

The university stressed that the notice is particularly important for both new and returning students who have been allocated bed spaces. It also called on the wider university community to take note of the announcement and help disseminate the information.

Students who have not applied for or been allocated a bed space are not covered by the resumption directive.

What Students Should Do

Students who fall within the affected category are advised to:

  • Confirm that their hostel allocation has been completed and that they have a valid allocation slip.
  • Keep a copy of their hostel fee payment receipt, either printed or saved on their phone.
  • Prepare a recent passport photograph ahead of the resumption date.
  • Arrive at their assigned hall of residence on time, as verification will begin at 9:00 a.m.
  • Follow any additional instructions issued by hall administrators on arrival.
